A must when visiting Madagascar’s most popular spots, showcasing lemurs, chameleons, baobab species and Tsingy, before ending with a beach stay.

The tour in details

  • Upon your arrival at Ivato international airport, our team is happy to welcome you at the arrival gate, whatever your arrival time is. After assisting you with services like money exchange and SIM card purchasing if needed, we will get in the car and head to your hotel.

    We will assist you with your luggage to your room. Dinner is included at the hotel.

  • Depending on the domestic flight, you may have breakfast at the hotel or a takeaway before the transfer to the airport.

    We will ensure your transfer to the airport for your flight to the west coast, to Morondava.

    Upon your arrival, a driver with a car will be waiting to transfer to Kirindy for the night. On the road, you will cross the Avenue of the Baobab during daylight. Arrival in Kirindy and installation at the hotel.

    Be ready at nightfall for a nocturnal visit of the Kirindy forest, you will try to find nocturnal lemurs such as Madame Berthe’s mouse lemur, the smallest living nocturnal lemur, or the giant jumping rat. The flagship animal to be searched for is the Fossa, which is the star of the reserve.

  • In the morning, leave the hotel after breakfast. Drive back again to the Kirindy Forest for a diurnal visit of the reserve to find daytime animals. Depending on luck, you may encounter the dancing lemur (the Verreaux’s sifaka), chameleons, and birds. This is also an opportunity to learn about the endemic medicinal plants of the area.

    Road to Bekopaka after the visit. You will cross the Tsiribihina river by ferryboat and have lunch in Belo Sur Tsiribihina. Continuation of the journey in the afternoon and a last short ferryboat crossing over the Manambolo River before arriving in Bekopaka. Take some time rest and recharge before the following day’s adventure.

  • In the morning, we drive to the Big Tsingy for a spectacular adventure within the limestone landscape.

    We will first cross a deciduous forest where we will try to find lemur species roosting inside tree trunks. We then progressively enter the Tsingy Cathedral before climbing to reach the top of the Tsingy. We will cross the epic hanging bridge for a memorable experience. We may cross some narrow paths and climb up and down in some areas. We go back to the hotel in the afternoon, and rest of the day is free.

    NOTE : The Bemaraha National Park is composed of different areas. The ideal visit is two full days, but for a one full day visit, the choice must be made between the Big Tsingy and the Small Tsingy with sailing through the Manambolo Gorge.

    We go back to Morondava in the morning by taking the same road as before. We will have several stops on the way to enjoy the landscapes and to make the day more enjoyable.

    We will visit the twisted « Baobabs in love » and will experience the sunset at the Avenue of the baobab. Installation at the hotel in Morondava after the visit.

  • In the morning we will depart for Belo Sur Mer. We will cross the Kabatomena River with our car which makes this part of the road accessible only during the dry season.

    Near Belo Sur Mer, we will cross a forest of majestic baobabs with surreal patterns on their trunks. We will pass by the traditional salt pans and see white dune landscape made of salt. Transfer to your hotel in Belo Sur Mer. The rest of the day is free.

  • Today we will visit Kirindy Mitea National Park. We will take a traditional motorized pirogue to reach the park easily. We will visit the mangroves, then go to the dunes to see the lake with pink flamingos. We will have a break under the shade of the baobabs before crossing the sea to the islet of Nosy Be where we will have lunch. The rest of the time free for swimming or snorkelling. Sail back to the hotel in the afternoon.

  • Our last day in Belo Sur Mer, we will have a walk to visit the traditional dhow construction by the seashore. Here, we will meet locals and will visit the marketplace as well. In the afternoon, we will go back to Morondava with some stops on the baobab forest for pictures.

  • On this day, you will have a flight back to the capital. Depending on the domestic flight schedule, you may visit Morondava, including the Kimony Shelter reserve and the market before the transfer to the airport.Should time not allow it, once in Antananarivo, we will take you on a tour of Croc Farm or to the downtown area to visit the Queen’s Palace.

  • The last day of your expedition in Madagascar. Depending on your flight, we may take you on a city tour to visit « the city of a thousand ». We will ensure your transfer to the airport, making some stops at the craft market for souvenirs. We wish you a safe flight. We say to you « VELOMA! »
