Thanks to its proximity to the capital city Antananarivo, Andasibe is a must-see for a trip to Madagascar. With our Madagascar East 7-day tour package, the journey is extended to Akanin’ny Nofy, nestled between lakes, Pangalanes channel and the Indian Ocean. This tropical destination on the east coast is the ideal spot where several lemurs species can be encountered. This tour removes the worry of domestic flights, as you will travel via both land and boat transfers.

  • Upon your arrival at Ivato International Airport, our team will be delighted to welcome you at the arrival gate, no matter what time you land. After assisting you with essentials like currency exchange and getting a SIM card, we will head to the vehicle and drive to your hotel.

  • After breakfast, we leave the hotel and we then head further east to reach Andasibe for the night.

    Stop at the Peyrieras Reserve halfway, there to get a first glance at Malagasy biodiversity. It is a haven for colorfull chameleons species, frogs and reptiles including crocodiles, geckos and snake, as well as moths.

    Upon arrival, transfer to our hotel in Andasibe for check-in. Afternoon free.

    We will head out at nightfall for a nocturnal visit of the forest to discover animals alive at night. Our goal is for finding nocturnal lemurs, such as the Goodman’s mouse lemur. Transfer back to the hotel after the visit.

  • The aim when visiting Andasibe is to discover the largest living lemur « the Indri-indri », today we will try to find them inside the Analamazaotra Reserve part of the Andasibe Mantadia National Park. Here, the visit takes about 2 hours and can be extended to 4 hours for those who are seeking for bigger adventure.

    In the afternoon, visit of the Vakona private reserve to get closer to lemurs species such as the black and white ruffed lemur and common brown lemur who will greet us upon landing on the Lemur island after canoe transfer. Drive back to the hotel after visiting the crocodile and avian reserves in Vakona.

  • The next morning, departure from Andasibe after the breakfast and head more eastern to reach Manambato first.

    We will pass through the towns of Brickaville and Antsapanana along the way. Upon arrival in Manambato, we will board a boat for the transfer to Akanin’ny Nofy, a Malagasy name which means « the nest of dreams. » This destination is situated along the Pangalanes Canal and is characterized by its white sand beaches bordering the lakes.

    At nightfall, embark on a nocturnal visit to the Aye Aye island to discover the remarkable Aye Aye nocturnal lemur. You will get to observe how it uses its uniquely elongated middle finger to feed on fruits like coconuts.

    Today we will enjoy a daytime tour of the Palmarium Reserve.
    We’ll start from the restaurant where we’ll meet several lemur species including Brown Lemurs, crowned lemurs, black-and-white ruffed lemurs. With some luck, we may even get up close to the magnificient Indri-indri lemurs.
    Then, we will continue into the garden to discover aromatic and tropical plants such as vanilla, cinnamon, and cocoa, before finishing our walk on the beach shore to see the carnivorous Nepenthes pitcher plant.

  • After breakfast, we will sail back to Manambato to rejoin our car. On board, you will enjoy the lush green scenery along the Pangalanes Channel and witness the quiet daily routines of locals living along the water. The landscape is dominated by pandanus trees, endemic palm trees, and niaouli trees. Once the sandy shores and villages come into view, you have almost arrived back to your destination.

    Next, drive back to Antananarivo. We will plan some stops along the road to take pictures , stretch your legs or taste exotic fruits. Along the way, we will pass through several local towns, including Ambanitsena, Manjakandriana, and Marozevo. Arrival in Antananarivo by the end of the day.

  • Today marks the last day of our expedition in Madagascar. Depending on your flight schedule, we can take you on a city tour to explore « The City of a Thousand », including the historic Queen’s Palace, some local private parks, or any specific places you would like to see if time permits.

    Our team will ensure your transfer to the airport, we will make some stops at the craft market for souvenirs.

    At the airport, we will make sure you are safely guided to your check-in line, and then it will be time to say our goodbyes.
